EDUCATION ACT (CAP. 327)Diploma in Social Studies Course (Amendment) Regulations, 2003
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 30 (5) and 31 (6) of the Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated the following regulations made by the Senate of the University of Malta by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by sections 31 and 35 of the said Act:
Citation1. These regulations may be cited as the Diploma in Social Studies Course (Amendment) Regulations, 2003 and shall be read and construed as one with the Diploma in Social Studies Course Regulations, 1998, published as Legal Notice 40 of 1998, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
Applicability2. These regulations shall be applicable to courses starting in
February 2003 or later.
3. The following sub-paragraph (e) shall be added after sub- paragraph (d) of paragraph (4) of regulation 6 of the principal regulations:
“(e) Occupational Guidance and Career Counselling
(i) Level 1: Basic social science study-units which serve as an introduction to occupational guidance and career counselling:
Sociology of Work
Labour Economics
Labour Market Data Analysis
Counselling and Placement Skills
(ii) Level 2: Core study-units in the following areas in which the study of occupational guidance and career counselling is
further explored:
Lifelong Learning Social Dialogue Employment Schemes
Profiling and Job Classification Skills”
