ECO-CONTRIBUTION ACT (CAP. 473)Eco-Contribution (Amendment) Regulations, 2007
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 13 of the Eco- Contribution Act, hereinafter referred to as "the Act", the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment with the concurrence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has made the following regulations:
1. The title of these regulations is the Eco-Contribution Act (Amendment) Regulations, 2007, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Eco-Contribution Regulations, 2004, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 1st January, 2007.
2. Sub-regulation (2) of regulation 9 of the principal regulations shall be amended as follows:(a) for the first paragraph thereof there shall be substituted the following:
"(2) Recognised producers of products falling under HS Code Numbers 2201 to 2206, inclusive, and
2208, as well as producers of products falling under HS Code Numbers 3923, 39231000, 7010 and 7612, in the First Schedule, shall report
and pay to the Competent Authority the eco-contribution due on the relative products with the return due for the period immediately
following the time when the product is placed on the market:";
(b) immediately after the first paragraph thereof there shall be added the following new proviso:
"Provided that the eco-contribution on the opening stock of the products falling under HS Code Numbers
3923, 39231000, 7010 and 7612, due as a result of the
coming into force of these regulations, shall be paid by not later than twelve months from the 1st January, 2007:"; and

(c) for the words "Provided that on the coming into force of the Act" in the existing proviso, there shall be substituted
the words "Provided further that on the coming into force of the Act".
