EMPLOYMENT AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACT, 2002 (ACT NO. XXII OF 2002)
Notice of coming into force
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 1(2) of the Employment and Industrial Relations Act, 2002, the Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister for Social Policy has appointed the 5th April,
2004 as the date of coming into force of article 86 thereof insofar as it repeals subarticles (1) (2) (3) and (4) of article 18 of
the Conditions of Employment (Regulation) Act in relation to entitlement of maternity leave of pregnant employees, other than those
whose expected date of confinement is before the 5th April, 2004, and in these instances these subarticles shall be considered repealed
only when any maternity leave entitlement availed of in terms of these provisions has been exhausted.
