ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT (CAP. 435)Conservation of Wild Birds (Amendment) Regulations, 2009
BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by article 9 and 10 of the Environment Protection Act, the Prime Minister has made the following regulations:–

Amends regulation
24 of the principal regulations.
1. The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild Birds (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations,2006, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
2. In regulation 24 of the principal regulations, for the words “main roads of a bird sanctuary.” there shall be substituted the words “main roads of a bird sanctuary:” and immediately thereafter there shall be added the following new proviso:-“Provided further that the Minister may, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (1) of regulation 9, by notice in the Gazette, authorize a derogation from the provisions of this regulation in respect to items (8) and (9) of Schedule V to these regulations, in the interests of air safety. In cases of urgency, the Minister may act without the recommendation of the Ornis Committee in terms of these regulations.”.
