EUROPEAN UNION ACT (CAP. 460)
Treaty of Lisbon Order, 2008
IN exercise of the powers conferred by subarticle (2) of article 2 of the European Union Act, the Prime Minister has made the following Order>–

Title. Interpretation.

The Specified Treaty shall be considered as one with the Treaty.

1. This order may be cited as the Treaty of Lisbon Order, 2008.
2. In this order, unless the context otherwise requires> “the Act” means the European Union Act<
“the Specified Treaty” means the Treaty between the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Estonia, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, Ireland, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Malta, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Poland, the Portuguese Republic, Romania, the Republic of Slovenia, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Finland, the Kingdom of Sweden, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland amending the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty establishing the European Community, signed at Lisbon on 13 December 2007<
“the Treaty” has the same meaning as that given in the Act.
3. For the purposes of subarticle (2) of article 2 of the Act it is hereby declared that the Specified Treaty shall be considered as one with the Treaty immediately upon the coming into force of the Specified Treaty between all the signatory states thereof as provided in paragraph
2 of Article 6 of the Specified Treaty.
