IDENTITY CARD ACT (CAP. 258)
Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) (Amendment) Regulations,
2008
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 13 of the Identity
Card Act, the Prime Minister has made the following regulations>–

L.N. 47 of 1996
. Amends regulation
3 of the principal regulations.
1. These regulations may be cited as the Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) (Amendment) Regulations, 2008 and shall be read and
construed as one with the Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) Regulations, 1996 hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
2. The proviso in paragraph (1) of regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be substituted with the following>-
“Provided that with effect from the 1st of January, 2008, any identity card issued after the 15th of January, 2002 which expires before the 31st of December, 2008 shall, notwithstanding the expiry date appearing on such identity card, remain valid up to the 31st December, 2008 and such identity card shall not be deemed to have expired before the 31st December 2008.”.
