IDENTITY CARD ACT (CAP. 258)Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) (Amendment) Regulations,2009
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 13 of the Identity
Card Act, the Prime Minister has made the following regulations:–

Amends regulation
3 of the principal regulations.
1. The title of these regulations is the Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) (Amendment) Regulations, 2009 and shall be read and construed as one with the Identity Cards (Issue and Validity) Regulations, 1996 hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.2. The proviso in paragraph (1) of regulation 3 of the principal regulations shall be substituted as follows:-“Provided that with effect from the 1st January, 2009, any identity card issued after the 15th January, 2002 which expires before the 31st December, 2009 shall, notwithstanding the expiry date appearing on such identity card, remain valid up to the 31st December, 2009 and such identity card shall not be deemed to have expired before the 31st December 2009.”.
