LOCAL COUNCILS ACT (CAP. 363)
Local Councils (Financial) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003
IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 67 and 72 of the Local Councils Act, the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, in conjunction with the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, has made the following regulations>–

Amends regulation

4 of the principal regulations.

1. The title of these regulations is the Local Councils (Financial) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Local Councils (Financial) Regulations 1993, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
2. Subregulation (1) of regulation 4 of the principal regulations shall be amended as follows>–
(a) in regulation (c) thereof, for the words “in the Act<” there shall be substituted the words “in the Act>”< and
(b) immediately at the end of paragraph (c) there shall be added the following proviso>–
“Provided that as from 1 October, 2003 to 31 March,
2004, there shall apply a rate of not less than five per cent of the allocation approved in terms of the Act instead of the aforementioned rate of ten per cent applicable for other periods.”.
