LOCAL COUNCILS ACT (CAP. 363)
Local Councils (Financial) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007
IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 67 and 72 of the Local Councils Act, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, after consultations with the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has made the following regulations>–

Amends regulation

4 of the principal regulations.

1. The title of these regulations is the Local Councils (Financial) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Local Councils (Financial) Regulations 1993, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
2. In regulation 4(1) of the principal regulations immediately after paragraph (e) thereof there shall be added the following new paragraph (f)>–
“(f) prepare the year end financial statements, submit same to the Council for approval after which they are to be signed by the Mayor and himself. It will be his responsibility to ensure that the statements are submitted to the Auditor General by not later than May 10, of each year, or if this happens not to be a working day, the first following working day.”.
