Loitering in Specific Streets in Ta’ Xbiex
(Ta’ Xbiex Local Council) Bye-Laws, 2007
IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 33, 34, 35(8) and
60 of the Local Councils Act, the Ta’ Xbiex Local Council has made the following Bye-Laws>-
1.1. The title of these Bye-Laws is Loitering in Specific Streets in Ta’ Xbiex (Ta’ Xbiex Local Council) Bye-Laws, 2007.
1.2. These Bye-Laws shall come into force one month after their publication in the Gazette.
2. In these Bye-Laws, unless the context otherwise requires>- “the Act” means the Local Councils Act<
“Council” means the Ta’ Xbiex Local Council<
“locality” means the locality of Ta’ Xbiex as shown in the
Second Schedule to the Local Councils Act<
“loitering” means the persistent presence of any person for no apparent reason, however excluding persons who are carrying out
a duty in the specific streets in Ta’ Xbiex as shown in the Schedule to these Bye-Laws.
3. No person shall loiter in specific streets in Ta’ Xbiex as shown in the Schedule to the Bye-Laws.
4. Any person who is found loitering in specific streets in Ta’ Xbiex as shown in the Schedule to these Bye-Laws shall be guilty
of a contravention and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine (ammenda) of thirty liri (Lm30).Citation and commencement.
Interpretation.
No loitering.
Penalty.
