LOCAL MANUFACTURES (PROMOTION) ACT (CAP. 336)Local Manufactures (Promotion) (Amendment ofSecond Schedule) Regulations, 2004

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 10 of the Local Manufactures (Promotion) Act, the Minister for Economic Services has made the following regulations:-

Citation and commencement.

1. (1) The title of these regulations is the Local Manufactures (Promotion) (Amendment of Second Schedule) Regulations, 2004 and shall be read and construed as one with the Local Manufactures (Promotion) Act, hereinafter referred to as “the Act”.

(2) These regulations shall come into force on the 1st May,

2004.

Amends Second Schedule to the Act.

2. For the items in the First Part of the Second Schedule to the Act, hereinafter referred to as “the principal Schedule”, there shall be substituted the items in the Schedule to these regulations:

Provided that the rates specified in the Third column of the Schedule hereto shall come into force on the 1st May 2004 and shall substitute their counterparts in the principal Schedule in the column entitled Levy.

Levy

The items included in the Second Column of this Schedule are arranged in the order of the headings of the Nomenclature of the Customs Tariff which is based on the Nomenclature for the classification of Goods in the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System
1983 (referred to as the Harmonized System) and shall be interpreted in accordance with the Explanatory Notes to the Harmonized System published by the Customs Co-Operation Council, Brussels.
An item will only be deemed to be included in this Schedule if it falls within the Product Description appearing in the Second Column of this Schedule and falls under the Harmonized System Code Number appearing in the First Column of this Schedule.
