MALTA ENTERPRISE ACT (CAP. 463)Enterprise Support Incentives Regulations(Amendment) Regulations, 2009

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by article 5 of the Malta Enterprise Act, the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment has made the following regulations:

1. The title of these regulations is Enterprise Support Incentives (Amendment) Regulations, 2009, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Enterprise Support Incentives Regulations, 2008, hereinafter in these regulations referred to as “the principal regulations”.2. In the Maltese text of the principal regulations, for the word “intrapriża”, wherever this occurs, there shall be substituted the word “impriża”.3. In regulation 3 of the principal regulations, subregulation

(2)(d) and the proviso thereto shall be deleted.

4. In regulation 5 of the principal regulations, for the words

“regulation 9” there shall be substituted the words “regulation 10”.

5. In regulation 6 of the principal regulations, for the words

“regulation 9” there shall be substituted the words “regulation 10”.

6. Regulation 9 of the principal regulations shall be renumbered as regulation 10 thereof.7. Immediately after regulation 8 of the principal regulations, there shall be added the following new regulation:

“Assistance for the reduction of impact on the environment.

9. Where the Corporation is satisfied that an undertaking carrying on or intending to carry out an activity that may contribute to the economic development of Malta, requires assistance on initiatives that reduce the undertaking’s impact on the environment, the Corporation may provide such an undertaking with a cash grant that shall not exceed 60% of the eligible costs incurred in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the Guidelines.”.
