MALTA SUMMER TIME [CAP. 230. 1
MALTA SUMMER TIME ACT
To provide for the advance of time in Malta during certain periods of the year.
Enacted by ACT XX of 1972.
(7th June, 1972)*
"Malta" has the same meaning as is assigned to it by section 124 of the Constitution of Malta;
"order under this Act" me an s an o r der made b y t h e P r ime Minister for any of the purposes of this Act and published
in the Government Gazette;
"the period of summer time" in relation to any year means such period as may be specified in respect of that year in an
order under this Act.
(2) Where any reference to a point of time occurs in any enactment, order, regulation, rule, bye-law, deed, notice or
other document whatsoever, the time referred to shall, during the period of summer time, be deemed to be th e time as fi xed for
ge neral purposes by this Act.
(3) Nothing in this Act shall affect the use of a different time f o r purp o ses of astron omy, meteoro l og y, n a v i g a t
i on or ot her purp oses for which a differen t ti me i s ad opted by i ntern ational usage, or the construction of any document
referring to a point of time in connection with any of those purposes.
