PRODUCT SAFETY ACT (CAP. 427)Dangerous Substances (Amendment) Regulations, 2009
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 39 of the Product Safety Act, the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment, on the advice of the Malta Standards Authority, has made the following regulations:–
1. The title of these regulations is the Dangerous Substances (Amendment) Regulations, 2009, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Dangerous Substances Regulations, 2008, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.2. These regulations implement the provisions of Commission Directive 2008/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 August 2008 amending, for the purpose of its adaptation to technical progress, for the 30th time, Council Directive 67/548/EEC on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances.3. In regulation 3(1) of the principal regulations, in the definition “the Directive”, immediately after item (xxxvii) thereof, there shall be added the following new item:“(xxxviii) Directive 2008/58/EC (OJ L 246, 15.9.2008, p. 1–191):”.
