RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS ACT (CAP. 49)General Authorisations (Radiocommunications Apparatus) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by article 19 of the Radiocommunications Act, the Minister for Infrastructure, Tr a n s p o r t a n d C o m m u n i c a t i o n s h a s m a d e t h e f o l l o w i n g regulations:-

Amends regulation
2 of the principal regulations.
1. ( 1 ) T h e t i t l e o f t h e s e r e g u l a t i o n s i s t h e G e n e r a l Authorisations (Radiocommunications Apparatus) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010, and they shall be read and construed as one with the General Authorisations (Radiocommunications Apparatus) Regulations, 2008, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into force on the 2nd November, 2009.
2. Regulation 2(2) of the principal regulations shall be amended as follows:(a) immediately after the definition “ “Dynamic Frequency Selection” or “DFS” ” there shall be added the following new definition:
“ “Earth station” or “satellite terminal” means a station or terminal located either on the Earth’s surface or within the major portion of the Earth’s atmosphere and intended for communication:
(a) with one or more space stations; or
(b) with one or more stations of the same kind by any means of one or more reflecting satellites or other objects in space;”;
(b) immediately after the definition “indoor use” there shall be added the following new definition:
VERŻJONI ELETTRONIKA“ “Intelligent Transport Systems” or “ITS” means a range of systems and services, based on Information and Communication technologies, including processing, control and positioning, communication and electronics, that are applied to a road transportation system;
(c) immediately after the new definition “ “Intelligent Transport Systems” or “ITS” ” there shall be added the following new definition:
“ “ITU” means the International Telecommunication
Union;”;
(d) immediately after the definition “the Minister”
there shall be added the following new definition:
“ “mobile earth station” shall have the same meaning as in the Radio Regulations;”;
(e) immediately after the new definition “Mobile earth station” there shall be added the following new definition:
“mobile satellite service” shall have the same meaning as in the Radio Regulations;”; and
( f ) i m m e d i a t e l y a f t e r t h e d e fi n i t i o n “ t h e R a d i o R e g u l a t i o n s ” t h e r e s h a l l b e a d d e d t h e f o l l o w i n g n e w definition:
“ “ r a d i o d e t e r m i n a t i o n ” s h a l l h a v e t h e s a m e meaning as in the Radio Regulations;”.
3. The First Annex to the First Schedule of the principal regulations shall be substituted with the following:B 377
