IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 34 and 35(8) of the Local Councils Act, the Mdina Local Council has made the following Bye-Laws:-
Citation. Commencement. Interpretation.
Circulation of horse- drawn carriages and the use of rubber covers on hooves and carriage wheels.
Penalities.
Animal-drawn Carriages (Mdina Local Council) Bye-Laws, 2009.”
“Animal-drawn carriage” means a karozzin and any animal-drawn vehicle;
“the Act” means the Local Councils Act;
“the Council” means the Mdina Local Council;
“locality” means the Mdina locality as shown in the First
Schedule to the Act.
Provided that the Mdina Local Council may issue a permit for an animal-drawn carriage not fitted with rubber covered wheels to access
Mdina on a special occasion.
4. Any person who is found guilty of contravenening these regulations shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine (ammenda) of sixty euro.
